Bob and Gyee wrote their own vows (borrowing liberally from examples they found on the web). Here they are (in case you're looking for some yourself).
This is the beginning of our marriage and as much as I dislike public speaking, it is today that I want you, our families and our friends to know of my intentions and commitments that I have for you and our lives together from this day forward.
These promises will be kept in my heart for as long as I shall live.
I've vowed to myself not to let these promises simply be the vow on our wedding day or the speech I gave at our wedding but, I've vowed to myselfto live a life that will honor the vows we have spoken and make you glad to have married me this day. :-)
I promise to give you the best of myself and to ask of you no more than you can give.
I promise to accept you the way you are.
I fell in love with you for the qualities, abilities, and outlook on life that you have, and won't try to reshape you in a different way.
I promise to respect you as a person with your own interests, desires, and needs, and to realize that those are sometimes different, but no less important than my own.
All that is important to you is equally as important to me - well, except for your fantasy baseball scores!
I promise to grow along with you, to be willing to face changes as we both change in order to keep our relationship alive and exciting.
I promise to hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
I promise to be 110% faithful and committed to you and our marriage and will never leave or forsake you.
From this day forward, you are my husband
you shall not walk alone,
my heart will be your shelter,
and my arms will be your home.
Gyee please take my hands as I recite my Promises and Vows to you.
These are the hands that will wipe away any tears of sorrow or joy from your face.
These are the hands that will hold your hands through all of life's ups and downs.
These are the hands that will tuck you in at night and keep you safe.
These are the hands that will comfort you in your times of need.
These are the hands of your best friend, lover and confidant.
These are the hands that will always do what you tell them, knowing that you are always right.
These are the hands that will cherish, honor and respect you; giving our love and happiness the highest priority on my to do list.
These are the hands that will proudly display this ring as a symbol of our love and commitment to each each other.
